*NOTE: If English is not your native language, you can take the Praxis exams with accomidations, which extends your testing time on specific dates. Check here for dates.

A Basic Skills Test MUST be taken by the end of the Winter quarter of Year 1 of the BTP Program. The CBEST is offered six times per year.

BTP students must begin taking their Praxis Content Area or ORELA exams during the Spring of their first year in the program. Praxis tests are only offered three times per year in Oregon. To be sure we have the information in your file, however, each time you receive test scores, please make a copy and send it to us.

Praxis II Subject Special Area Assessments - High School
A Praxis exam must be taken in your content area. For example, if your content area is Social Studies, you will need to take the Praxis exams specific to the content (see Praxis Bulletin).

In order for native English speakers to qualify for the Bilingual Endorsement, you must pass the Spanish (or other language) Praxis (Spanish: Content Knowledge 10191 and Spanish: Productive Language Skills 20192).

NOTE: To qualify for an ESL/Bilingual Endorsement rather than an ESL-only Endorsement, proof of bilingual competency is required. Please contact BTP.
