Arts Learning Grants support projects emphasizing skill acquisition
and direct participation in art as a basic part of learning for
children and youth. Amounts range from $5,000 to $150,000 (with
most grants running about $25,000). Deadline is June 16.
Tony Hawk Foundation
funds organizations wishing to build a community skate park with
grants from $5,000 to $25,000. Deadlines are Jun 1, Sept 1,
and Dec 1 annually.
Captain Planet Foundation
funds hands-on environmental projects for children and youth. Most
grants range from $250-$2,500. No deadline. Proposals reviewed
four times a year.
Nature of Learning
is the National Wildlife Refuge System's community-based environmental
education initiative. Start up grants goes up to $5,000. Purpose
is to promote natural areas as outdoor classrooms. Deadline is
June 30.
Toyota
Motor Sales is accepting applications for classroom projects
that take a creative approach to teaching math and science. More
than 100 grants will be awarded for amounts up to $10,000. No
deadline.
Jordan
Fundamentals Grant Program funds creative teaching projects
in public secondary schools that serve economically disadvantaged
students. 400 grants will be awarded in the amount of $2,500.
Deadline is June 15.
American
Honda Foundation makes grants in the field of youth and scientific
education. Grants range from $10,000 to $100,000. Proposals are
due May 1, August 1, November 1 and February 1.
